Materials And Assembly

Spring 2016

Materials and Assembly is a required course at Carnegie Mellon that instructs students on the basics of construction, construction documentation, and the International Building Code. The following are assignment deliverables created as part of the coursework.

Assignment 1 involved the creation of basic construction documentation for a prescribed section of a facade.

Assignment 3 was an exploration of cross-laminated timber construction, as seen in at Ed's Shed in London.

Assignment 2 was a IBC code review of an art gallery (never built) designed by Le Corbusier for Amsterdam. The project involved updating the project to current IBC standards.
